Freedom of Information Act 2000

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) gives general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, sets out exemptions from that right and places a number of obligations on public authorities. In line with the FOIA if you make a request for information from the CSAB we will, subject to exemptions, supply that information.

How is the information available?

The information provided on the website can be downloaded or is available in hard copy form from the CSAB.

Is there a charge for the information?

Currently the information is not subject to a charge but copies of the Annual Report in hard copy form may be limited.

Is any information unavailable under the FOIA?

Yes. The work of the CSAB includes information that cannot be made public. Details of specific cases cannot be made public as this information remains confidential due to the Data Protection Act and exemption xii of the FOIA - privacy of an individual

Due to the nature of the organisation minutes of ‘in-house’ meetings are not made available due to exemption vii of the FOIA - effective management and operations of the public service
