Observers
To improve representatives’ knowledge of the hearing procedures, the Board
offers the opportunity to observe a hearing prior to the case, in which
they are involved, being heard. If you wish to make use of this facility
please contact the Hearing Officer.
You will be invited to complete a form when you receive the appellant’s
main statement of case asking whether you have any objections to any
observers being present during your hearing. A maximum of four can attend
any one hearing (none of whom will come from your Department or any of its
executive agencies). If the Departmental/Agency representatives do object
to observers being present simply mark the form accordingly. No reason(s)
why need to be given.
